Was a nice day yesterday and I had a short stroll in the morning.

Beautiful country, and very well photographed!
It's always interesting to see the "hunters view" while in the field. Especially when the photos are from another part of the world.
Thanks for showing us!

I really love Slovenia!!!

93, your pix are are a real delight.

Here are a few of our "off-seasons'". We really don't have an off season, but rather just a sort of transition from one thing chased to another.

These were taken in the last month or so.

This time of year we are earning our keep, making up for the game we take during the regular hunting season, and keeping the competition at bay...or trying to, anyway.

I think 93 does the same thing, and would love to see what they do to keep predators and game killers in control.

Ya guys it is beautiful and I am glad you like it - pic toward Sun (south) was taken from the low-flat part and shows my main hunting area (hills). Have in mind it is a small country - actualy pics were taken almost in the center (South of Ljubljana) and behind those mountains toward north is Austria already

Predator supression is limited to foxes, martens and polecats and some birds alike crows, magpies and jays. Wolves, jackals and Lynx take out is very limited and only upon State Decree. Birds of prey are under total protection...so game like hares, pheasants and deer are paying a heavy toll.

What do you hunt from the hochsitz/high seats? Roes, small game?

Those are multifunctional and are basicaly very usefull since this area is completely flat and therefore rather dangerous for shooting from the ground. Then it is agood platform for observation in the off-season as well as hunting for roe and red deer as well for night watch when crops are high and boars move in. Me personaly don't use them much - mainly for observing and a starting point of my stalks. Oh yes for small game we shoot many foxes from those - by calling them in or feeding.
