Very nice Jeff.
In photo number three it looks like the bases obscure the express sights,is this so ?.

Can't fault the workmanship, very nice rifle to own. The third photo looks to have the scope mount blocks higher than the rear sight but then the next shows the blocks are scolloped for iron sight use so that got round my first question. Personally not so keen on the higher mounting of the scope though. Assume the bolt handle would give clearance for lower mounting especially with the straight tubed scope you are using.
I like to keep my head position as close to the iron sight position as possible when using a scope so there is very little, if any, adjustment to make when handling the rifle in either mode. Hope the rig performs well for you.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for that.

Hi Neale,

No, the open sights are correctly positioned and I guess that it must be an optical illusion. The rifle is an absolutely beautiful rifle, the "Old Sow" has been turned into a "Silk Purse" if you know what I mean.

Hi Eagle27,

Thanks, the sights are correct and as I said to Neale, it is an optical illusion with the photo. I don't think that Alex Beer would allow it to go out if there was such a problem with either the sights or bolt concerns and Yes, the workmanship all round is superb.

Cheers for now,

Jeff Gray

Now THAT is a dandy!!

Much nicer than my own CZ Kitchen Cobbler...

I like high scopes, too.

I hope the next time we see it the metal is silver worn and the stock bruised and finish gone. That thing needs to be hunted...HARD!!

Great project and thanks for posting!

Jeff, that is a very nice looking rifle and in a fine calibre as well. Well done to all involved. Agree with 9.3X57. You now need to go hunting with it.

Cheers
Greg

A very nice blend of craftmanship! A perfect setup to be proud of yet still fully useable. Well done!

Thanks to all of you for the compliments but it is truly the "Artisans" that created this beautiful rifle. Without Alex Beer, Ross Waghorn and Ron Croxon it would not have come out as good as this. In any true Custom work, the client has his/her ideas but it is the "Artisans" that make it happen.

I guess the client has one more large input, Big $$$

Cheers for now,

Jeff Gray

Gentlemen,

Again I thank you one and all for your kind thoughts. To those Aussies that have work being done or been done by Alex Beer, Ross Waghorn or Ron Croxon, you can see it is well worth the wait. I know that "Father" took a little longer than I had first thought but I have to admit that half of the delay was waiting on the exact part to arrive or that I wanted some-thing else done. In Alex's case I pleaded with him and I mean pleaded to fit the Recknagel scope mounts to my Sabatti as the one that was provided was not to my liking and that allowed the Pelican case to go South with one rifle the Sabatti and come back with two.

The Pelican case is again packed ready to again go back to Tasmania on Monday with the stock for "Son" carefully packed within and hopefully before Christmas "Son" will be finally home.

Cheers for now,

Jeff Gray

Simply magnificent! Any other word would be weak and inaccurate! Congratulations and great hunting - we'll be waiting for the hunting and trophy pics in the future whenever you get the opportunity to take her out!
