White Boar with the 404

Just a quick post.

Shot this boar this afternoon with my 404.Shot him in the south end as he was north bound.
The load was 400 grain Woodleigh RN,82 grains of 2209 and a CCI mag primer for 2270 fps.
Have been useing the express sights only lately (bit more fun).
I love this rifle the more I use it.Afro408 did a great job again.

The recovered projectile still weighs 387 grains.

Hey, well-done! Good, clean fun for sure. Express sights are indeed a good deal of classic fun.

Hi Neale,

It has been a bit quiet not seeing those "Texas" heart shots for a long while. I am glad that your still happy with the .404 and I guess that the 8 x 68 ?? should be coming along as well. I may have got the caliber wrong and if I have I appolagise as it has been a while since I read your questions on it.

As always, well done and it is good to see that your keeping your eye in.

Well done Neale. Good sized Boar and you certainly used enough gun for him:-) I can see why you like that rifle so much.

Thanks for the replies fella's.
I was a bit slow getting back to you all.
Mainly useing the 404j as my 9.3 was at Afro408's getting it to feed the Hydro's.(which it now does).
Now the stock has gone to Daryl Stevens to have 2mm taken from the comb to make the express sights a bit easier to use.
While it is there Daryl will copy this stock for my 8x68s that Tony is building for me.

Neale - where was the bullet dug out from?

Way to go, by the way. Great looking mushroom - picture-book (if the meat and fat was removed - HA!).

Yes it did stop him quickly.
Sounded like a criket bat hitting a bag of wheat !!.
