Strong work Gents!
I the first picture, you can easily imagine the rifle with a straight grip. Would be a rather smart looking gun IMO.

I assume the blown-up LeeSpeeds in Africa (around 1900) were due mostly to early cordite ammo and the heat.

I agree, Huvious - with a straight grip and the splinter forend, the pointing qualities of the rifle might even be better than they are.
