1901 Enfield action,single stack mag.

After seeing the comments on the Irish Lee,I thought I would post these pics,
the action needs a spring and follower for the mag and a bolt.
Any leads on the where the missing items might be aquired??

The bolt if it's a standard MLE bolt will be in my shed ,the magazine follower and spring you will probably have to fabricate IF you can find one to use for a pattern ,the top of the follower is basically just a dished out piece of sheet metal although I don't know what the underside looks like.

The bolt is different - the bolthead has a dovetailed cover and is pinned on - not screwed, and the second locking lug is smaller and the dustcover is held on with screws.

Ahh well ,the one I have has a couple of lugs , one either end of the large locking lug, it stays in place because the dust cover snaps into a groove at the rear of the bolt. Not a screw or pin in sight.

The trigger also looks a bit modified - I am sure the parts are around - just not easily recognised.

I'd never noticed that dimple for the magazine cut-off before, makes alot of sense. Wonder why that's not seen more, particularly on the sporters?

The Mk.1 has a spring loaded ball engaging two holes in the cutoff so it is pulled strait out - the Mk.II has a lug on the top surface and so has to be pressed down and out to disengage.
There are not many common parts between the Mk.I and Mk.II.
I have only seen one BSA sporter based on the Mk.I and it had the dimple as I remember.
