Wondering if anyone has ever thought about building a double rifle in 35 winchester?All I know about it so far is that it was kind of an afterthought of the 405 win.Can't really believe it was what one would call a high pressure load.Always had kind of a thing for the 35 calibers.Being that it is a rimmed case is also appealing.Anyways any advice would be nice.Thanks in advance. I have pictures of a .35 Win. belgium doble rifle somewhere.

there is a group of belgian double rifle's, made in the last century for the local market to hunt wild boar's. you will find them most time's in 8x60RS, 9x57R, 35WIN and 405 WIN.
with a little bit of patience you can find such a double rifle!
look around in europe and special in belgium, they exist. I remember an article in an older gun magazin about such a belgian DR in 35 Win and will try to find it and post it for you.

Was able to find it: not a double rifle but a Doppelbüchsdrilling with two barrels in .35 Win over a 20/70 shotgun barrel.
Its a first class gun from Duchateau /Liege as we can see and was or allways is in the possession of Günter Freres if he is still alive(don't know it). He was working for DWM until the end and is a real expert for DWM ammunition.
you see that FN in Belgium was making the 35 Win after WW 2 for the local market because there was and maybe is lot of rifle's around. BTW I have heard once that all rifle ammo with FN headstamp was made from Hirtenberger. maybe someone can clear this up.

Wow!!! A real beautiful piece of work.At least now I know that the caliber has been and was used in double rifles.Have to think about this some more.Thanks Alsredoak

Who was the first on ."35cal" rifle? Rigby with their 400/350 or Winchester in 35WCF??

I believe I am correct in saying that our very own "Bonanza" who posts on these forums has a Belgian double rifle chambered in .35 Win.

DR's in 9x57R are probably more common. Often they have bores large enough to use normal .358" bullets. I have one myself.

kynoch list show a 250 grains bullet at 2200 f/sec

OK so I guess similar to a 9x56 Mannlicher or the like.....

Not as anemic as I first thought, enough ballistics there to be a fine medium /medium large game round. Especially in the limited range of a double rifle.

Interesting choice.
