Ok guys,

I'll start this one up because I really want to hunt cape buff...........

This is not the biggest Canadian moose but I consider this to be one of my most memorable pics.

Cheers,
Mark.

Here's a nice BC moose, my bother's client 'took' with a long bow. The moose was called in to 18 yards for the shot.

This is a picture taken 6 days after the start of the 'second' hunt of the 2006 season, I think it was. All were rifle-shot.
All of the hides (6), capes and meat were ruined or stolen by a grizzly bear in camp during the morning on the last day of the first hunt - just 8 days before this picture was taken.

This is me - I 'grew' some 'hollow' hair that trip. My hunter didn't connect.

The story on the tinted photo is that this is the way that I rec'd the photo from my brother in law who took the picture. I remember a fantastic pink and red sunset as we were packing the moose out (but not purple) so I am sure that he tinted the sky or otherwise enhanced the photo color, but i do not have the original picture.

In contrast teh other photo above and this one were taken with my camera at the same time:

Here's one I shot more than a few years ago - .458 x 2" 350gr. RN Hornady @ 2,296fps at 95 yards. The moose is in a little depression - went 675 hanging in quarters.

3 guys 'working' on a good sized bull.

Same moose.

'nother moose.

Here's a 48" moose my brother shot last fall. The 48" was less than it would have been, had 2 counters and a bit of paddle on the left side not been broken off. they figured maybe 54", not too bad for that area. Taylor has the head mounted over his piano in the living room. I didn't think it would fit - actually imho, it doesn't. HA!

Here's the young Swiss taxidermist working on it, in camp. She also shot a moose. You can better see the left side broken out of the antler. This is common in this area - even the 2 and 3 year olds break off antlers - usually completely on the young ones. Closer to town here, the youngsters don't fight - just run away.

Everyone - Fantastic Mooses.

Daryl - Your brother looks like a very friendly chap. Love the front stuffer. One of his own works? More details on it would be great. Makes me want to give muzzleloading a go!

Just got back from a 10 day float near Central Alaska. Mine was 65" shot with a 1918 G.E.Lewis .404 Jeffery.

Heading back out for Maine moose in November. I have an antlerless tag (good for a cow or bull with antlers smaller than his ears. Does anyone have tips for locating cow moose in early November?
