That takedown Rigby is sure cool - if a little beat...
IMO, the Westley looks like it was restocked, not just refinished.
I see there are a couple Mausers with a greater amount of wear on the floorplate than the rest of the metal.
I have an Oberndorf with great finish on the metal - except the floor plate.
Is this common?
Are the floorplates softer metal or blued differently so this happens?

I'm assuming the Rigby is a 400/350, not a 450/300 as advertised.

That Rigby is interesting, the WR stock just looks wrong. Last thing I need right now is another rifle that needs restocking, I've got four needing to be done as it is. I'm thinking that the floor plate wear is from carrying more than anything. It's at the balance point and and would get the most skin contact.
