Hope you guys can send some advice my way. I am due to receive a barreled action from Montana Rifle Company soon. I just received one of their short left hand actions and am waiting on a barreled action in 375 H&H. I will be receiving it in the white and want to add some extras to it. First and foremost is good solid sights. I have tentatively decided on NEGC's banded front ramp and a single leaf rear sight, both soldered on. If there is a better option out there I would like to know. The rifle will be scoped with either a 1-4x or 3x Leupold and the sights will be for the unlikely prospect of scope failure. The rifle will be used primarily in my home state of Alaska with the anticipation of an eventual trip to Africa. I want sights that are extremely rugged. I will most likely shoot only one or two loads, both 300 grainers, one partitions, the other a solid. I have looked for other sights of this type but have come up empty. I remember seeing a very rugged looking adjustable rear sight on a local smiths personal 404 Jeffery. I will give him a call to get some imput but would sure appreciate any wisdom you all had to impart. Thanks. Mart

Your sight selections are excellent. I have the same one on my 375 Ackley. On my 416 Rigby I went with the NECG fiber optic front sight. My scope choice for both of the above is the Leupold 1.75x6. I've had them for years, and they've never let me down.

Thanks for the reply. I sure like the looks of the NEGC sights. I am sure looking forward to getting the barreled action. I have waited a long time for it. I just received one of their short actions and am impressed with it. Hopefully the long action will be as nice. Thanks again. Mart

Sounds like you have done your homework..I suggest solder and a screw to back it up...
I like the Brockman-Talleys pop up ghost peep, that pops up when the scope comes off and its full adjustable..Works good with the NECG gold faced partridge front..I get the .007 height and set the peep in center adj and file the front to zero..that way I have a lot of adjustment to play with if I change loads....

Thanks for the suggestion. I had forgotten about the Brockman sight. I like the sounds of that combination. I will be a happy happy guy when it finally gets here. I spent the morning today working up loads to try. Mostly 300 grain Partitions. Thanks for the advice.
