Corbin and C&H bullet swage dies
      #16388 - 02/07/04 10:37 AM

Have you tried the Corbin swage
for any jacketed bullets? I also
understand C&H tool makes one.
I am thinking .323 to .318.
I want to use this in a regular
press.

I have not used Corbin dies but I have reduced .323 to .318 jacketed bullets in a die of my own manufacture.
This was done in one pass using a compound leverage "O" frame press like the RCBS Rockchucker.
The press requires a VERY strong mounting to the bench!
I used Lee case lube on the bullets and the trick is to push the bullet through smoothly in one pass without pausing or stopping untill the resize is complete.
If you slow down or stop sometimes the bullet will get stuck in the die and it becomes very difficult to get it moving again using the standard type press.
If a bullet got stuck in the die I would use my workshop vice to press it out as the vice is capable of applying MUCH more force than a reloading press.

The situation could be different with Corbin dies of course.
