This is the personal Mauser 1871/84 pattern sporter from Paul Mauser's personal collection (No 156) which was originally displayed in the Paul Mauser collection before WW-1. To me, this is a hallowed object.

Happy viewing and good hunting, gentlemen!

I have a 71/84 and have often wondered if there is anybody out there regularly shooting one.
The 11mm Mauser looks like it could be an enjoyable round to load and shoot.

Ben,

My job was only to post the pics. The thanks are happily conveyed to M Joel Dorleac, the gentleman who has kindly shared these pictures.

Heers68,

No, I don't own the rifle - or ever will. The pictures were taken annd sent to me by M Joel Dorleac of the famous Dorleac and Dorleac gunmaking firm in France.

Huvius,

I hope M Dorleac will respond with his views on your question. But, you must post pictures of your rifle now that you have mentioned it. Everyone is going to want to look at this beauty!
