new damascus knife

Some of you may remember I got Roger the knifemaker on this forum to make a knife for a friend using part of a block of root I dug up in the garden. I was so pleased with the result I asked him to make me one in damascus using the same block of wood, I got it today and here it is..(sorry only one pic but photobucket got buggered up, best, Mike

Dunno yet Jeff, only got it today. It will be coming with me to Mozambique in Sept and if I get lucky with a big Hippo, I'll let you know

Don't show it to the locals in Moz, Mike - they might think it's haunted when they see the Dr Who pattern on the blade.

Damn nice! I have several Damascus Steel knives, and love them all...except one. It's made of stainless steel and was the toughest knife I ever owned when it came to sharpening the darn thing.
