20 bore DR with additional cape gun barrels, not an easy find to do at Wal-Mart in these days

Let's see it all!

Great piece there Kapu -- please do get as much detail in the photographs as possible.
I'm most interested in seeing the breech face, the fences/strikers/hammers and locking system/action flats/barrel flats.

Goregeous scalloped action!!

Cheers

Good on you Kapu !!!!!!

I love these old Scherping's, I have a few myself. Neat combination in barrel sets also. I would guess this gun to have been built in the early 1880's. I am working with another member of the German Gun Collectors Assn. in trying to put together an article about Heinrich Scherping. If you search Scherping and stretch the search to 3 or 4 years you should be able to see some of mine that have been posted here. We would all love to see more pictures & details of this fine old firearm!!!

m4220,

I did remembered the ones of yours and actually was looking those once again at yesterday, once posted the picture. Please let me know, when the article is out, would for sure like to see that.

Seriously, I need to take a plenty of pictures in the future, I've promising already additional ones to so many DR's in this forum. Let's see, if do have time in the oncoming months.

Thanks Kapu for the effort and detail. Just being purely wild conjecture, with the Gothic letter I'd guess Heinrich Scherping sourced the craftsmen at Herzberg for components on this example.

Kind Regards,

Sweet rig Kapu.

Come out here on our ridge and take it on a cougar hunt.

What's the chamber length, bore/groove numbers, and the rate of twist?
Depending on the measurements, I might have everything here you'll need to load it and run the rifle.

Is the smooth barrel from the cape tubes 16 or 20 bore?
Is the rifle bore the same as the double rifle tubes?

Can we see the cheekpiece side of the stock?

Are those a pair of single-set triggers?
If so I'd like to see the trigger-plate action.

Cheers
