I read that Ruger are going to make a run of No 1's in 303 British

Yes,

70 have been ordered for Australia by the Ruger distributor NIOA. A month ago 53 had been spoken for. I'm sure the remaining 17 have gone by know.

They are a special order, one off run of No.1A's (light Sporter). They will not be part of the regular range of No.1's.

I would contact the Ruger distributor in the UK but it maybe too late to place an order.

The UK importer may be able to get one if not you may have to import from US or Canada, or Australia

I should add that considering the degree of interest in these rifles, I have for the first time considered leaving it in the box untouched.

On the other hand I have also considered useing it as a travel rifle. With the butt removed and lightened (Hollowed out), it would break down into a very compact, lighweight package for air travel.

The UK importer has been quoting a price, at the moment, of £1300 which is a mite steep in my opinion and it's likely to be more by the time they are actually made!!!!

Here in Oz we have been quoted from A$1,300 to just over A$1,400. A lot less than 1,300UK Pounds. Probably cheaper to import one as has been suggested.

I put a deposit on one last week through Rebel Gun Works in Brisbane. At the time I got the impression there was still 1 or 2 available. They said they were expecting them in early 2011. Cheers
