3 pretty rifles
      #159214 - 19/04/10 10:40 PM

Three mausers spanning 3 generations of collectors in my family. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I do.

The first is the "Little 7" This is my grandpa's 7 X 57 engraved by Arnold Griebel.

The second rifle is also a 7 X 57 that my dad purchased about 15 years ago. This is generation #2.
We call it The Dentist's Gun because it was built by a local dentist. Obviously the dentist made a mistake with the stock or changed his mind on bolt handles after he'd cut the stock. My dad has since replaced the bolt handle to remedy the mistake. Engraved by Denis Zeits.

Generation #3. This is a 6.5 X 55 sweed that I ran across one year ago and luckily had enough money in my pocket to buy. Very light weight and a lovely gun to carry.

Very nice - I would keep the loads soft in the rifles with the deep dovetails on the receiver bridge. Note Ackley's testing on pressure and blowups. The deeply dovetailed Mauser he tested let go with what was not a absolute maximum load in other actions.
