Gentlemen
I saw this magnificent Purdey at Holts auction in London yesterday and thought to share it
The calibre is 500/465. Engraving by Ken Hunt
I could not stay to see the bidding but it was estimated 80-100,000 GBP
Enjoy

Thanks TH44. I found the pic showing the top fastener most interesting, not realising Purdeys used such large ones before. The gold inlays are amazing - you'd think thrice before taking that into the bush!

I passed on it. I'm looking for smaller calibre's, and ball & shot guns at this time.

AFAIK this was a unsold lot and there wasn't a single bid on it.The bid started at £68000 or £69000.
