Weight and Barrel length

A real novice here with a couple questions I am sure everyone else already knows.Smile
Using a 16 or 20 ga doner to build a low pressure gun. What barrel length seems to work best
And what would be a good finished weight. I know thing vary but just hunting for general ideas.

I think profile and caliber will influense the weight more then the lenght. But some 60-65cm in a thin profile could give a decent weight, but perhaps a bit front heavy.

Andreas I understand the heavier the barrels etc. Will make a difference. But just trying to
get a general idea of weight and what barrel length most try to build too etc. Because as I said
I am a total novice in DR's. Whitey

Whitey,
You have to pick a caliber and a load for it to determine the best barrel length and weight. Without knowing the caliber and load, you are just guessing because harder hitting calibers need more barrel wall thickness for strength and more weight to help fight recoil. Hope this helps.

Thanks Bob. That I can understand.But I am not planning on any big Cal's the biggest would maybe be 30-40 Krag. But my first will be less than that.But wa just trying to get a idea of
