Damn Xausa - you (or somebody) should write your biography. Picking up bits and pieces is kinda painful - JK - looking forward for more!

After writing the above, on impulse I Googled Charlie Stone-Wigg's name, and to my horror was referred to this: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/article1008865.ece

Charlie and Ann had survived an almost identical attack, when their bedroom was invaded by Mau Mau terrorists in 1959, which, as the article says, cost Charlie his eye, but his assailants their lives. Evidently the bedroom door was not locked this time.

I have emailed Ann's sister, Verity Williams, to try to find out whether Ann recovered.

Sad news in an occurrence that seems to be as common in Kenya as it in in the southern country's.

xausa
That's very sad to hear. It must have given you quite a shock to find and read that story.
Sounds like Charlie and Ann were good people.

xausa,

Sad to hear of the new attack, murder of Charles and I hope your friend Ann is recovering.

It is sad that beautiful Africa always seems so full of these sorts of stories, and it seems often a peaceful death is denied to many in that continent. In Kenya and South Africa it seems that sort of end is the lot for many white rural dwellers and farmers nowadays. A form of ethnic genocide which the liberal Western press chooses to ignore.

Zimbabwe 2005. this guy was ancient, barely any teeth left.

zimbabwe, 1999
the buffalo pictured in the water was shot at a distance of 10-12 yds. luckily went the opposite direction from us and fell off the low cutbank into the pool in the background. gladly no crocs were present when we went in to fish him out.

Super long but not quite massive.
Looks like all the growth went into the horns and nothing to the Bosses.
Great to see it taken with a double.

Hey Adam, would you say he was young and with a soft boss or is it a defect of sorts ?.

He is wide for sure but doesn't get me as excited as the thought of seeing an old worn down 40" fella through open sights.

Agree FATBOY404, still young, hair on the bosses, my soul, he would have been unbelievable in 5 years time, not moaning at the hunter or anything, just my opinion, best
