I just found out that John, NitroX, is planning on buying a Double in 9.3x74R. I can't believe it. Where is the discussion on maker and barrel length? Where is our input on this rifle? How can he possibly buy a rifle with out our approval?
You would think it was his money or something.

Sh*t Mickey you got me worried for a moment. I thought my secret was out and that you found out I am actually a 13 year old Transvestite girl who prefers sewing to firearms . But my secret is still safe for the present.
****************
A little competition for any that care to play.
The double rifle, still to be paid for but committed to is in 9.3x74mmR Rimmed.
What other set(s) of barrels am I also buying? What brand is the double rifle? What configuration is the double - side by side or under and over?
PS The one or two persons that know because they are selling me something. No cheating.

Naw, everybody already knows that.
You are obviously ashamed of the rifle so I would guess it is an over and under. I would guess 20 gauge barrels. Does NEF make an O/U? I'll have to ask mortie.

I was thinking, you know what a 13 year old girl transvestute is? A Tom boy.
****
OK Christer, even though you cheated and named BOTH Tikka and Valmet, you are correct it is a Valmet. This should help with the last unanswered question.
Mickey is right, it is of course an U/O.
The calibres of the non-9.3x74mmR barrels has NOT been guessed yet. Remember there is two barrels and I am planning to buy FOUR (4)! sets of barrels. One of which is a double 9.3mm.

A 9.3x74R is, probably, the best pig killer around, but please, buy a side by side .

I agree with Freischuetz! The Transvestite thing I'll have to think about for a while, then get back to you on that one!

OK two barrel sets so far.
The 9.3x74mmR of course 12g/12g U/O shotgun - that one was easy. freischuetz got that one.
Two more barrel sets to go. A hint, one is a double, the second will be a combination. One set is not a barrel chambering for Valmets.

Until that last hint, I was going to guess 28g/28g but now I'll guess either a 22lr/.410 or .45-70/20g

Not sure why I said it was a Valmet. It's a Tikka 512 SD. Same as a Valmet 412.
9.3x74R U/O DR 12-bore U/O barrels
Later acquired
12-bore/.223 12-bore/7x65R .30-06 U/O DR barrel set.
I've used the first three sets a fair amount. The last two not at all. But I bought what I needed when I could. These things dry up I've found, so earlier is better than when they're hard to get, to impossible to get.
If I had two more,
I'd think rechambering the .30-06 to .30 H&H/Super Flanged would be cool.
And acquire a suitable set of barrels to chop up into a custom DR barrel set of either .375 H&H Flanged or .500/416 NE or .450/400 NE.
On the Never Never projects list. Getting what I've got shooting first is the go.
