Good for you!

Get some photos up for us to see.
It's great that you finally got through the regulatory BS on the way to the hunts.

Cheers

Oh, I'd love to see a photo too. Bwana, when is the gator season anyway? Amd, in your opinion, when is the very best period to go hunt them?

it varies on so many variables ,boat traffic, water level, number of permits for the area. and yes sometimes just being in the right place at the right time. but the more time spent out on the water the better just like any other hunting really.i have scored early on big ones and real late on others even time of night can be a factor i stay out from dusk till dawn

i eat and share and hides are sold or used personally.its neat to shoot with a rifle but to stalk with in 2-3 feet on a boat oh yea then fight it by hand with the cord and a float hand line a thousand pound fish

this guy was hard to take as you can see by my pants i had to get out of the boat and put another bolt in it and finally get him to the boat.standing in thigh deep water is as close to a buffalo charge as you can get in my book but i stood my ground it will never be forgotten by me and i really dont think i will repeat that move again

That's pretty impressive!
So did you do a beer batter dip or just fry it up? I've had gator before and it's good stuff. Better than frogs legs even.

Well done!

Thanks for the picture. That thing is a brute!

I'd imagine you will have the skin tanned and the skull bleached and displayed.

Armbar.

getting skull done, the hide is going to make a vest,i already have a sport coat made from gator hides but really to heavy for florida a vest should do me right.i also want a few pairs of shooting gloves made i never have seen alligator shooting gloves before.my biggest is 13'6" but i have seen one that will break the state record if i can only draw the right tag i tried selling some hunts but no one wanted to go its not often i get that many tags.but i sure did have some fun

Holy Crap!

Big Lizard.
Must be rewarding to throw a half pound of that thing on the skillet at the end of the day!

Make a pair of boxer shorts out of it, a good reminder of who's boss - and who won the fight that night...

Cheers

Scratchy?

Ann -- Nelson was in there sack deep with that little newt.
I doubt he's got issues of trouser sensitivity with his Tibetan-Gong A'Clanging reproductive system.

Bwana has the stones!
It's likely gonna take gator skin to even barely contain him in there!

Cheers

Nelson is the greatest to hunt with, a great host and a perfect gentleman....he sure knows how to show a fellow a good time in the dark! Hunting that is. I haven't been to Africa or Australia, but being on the St. Johns River at 2AM in the dark is the scariest place on earth. There are critters flying over head, livestock swimming around (really), creapy crawlies everywhere and partying rednecks on the shore! It was scary...but man can Nelson sniff out those big lizards!
