Anyone here hunt spring turkey? It is about all I can hunt around here besides groudhogs right now. I took a nice one the other day. He has an 11 1/4" beard, 23.5 pounds and had 1.5" spurs We ate him Sunday for Mothers day

That's a nice turkey. Didja deep-fry 'em? I just love 'em with crispy skin and moist and juicy on the inside. Haven't had time to do anything as I just started another job basically working nights. Gotta try to sleep, ya know.

Actually I cooked him in an oven inside one of those bags. He turned out pretty good for being an old bird. The meat was even on the moist & tender side. The dark meat tends to be stronger in flavor & the legs...........are just tough These birds make a living by running LOL Of all wild game........turkey is my favorite for eating

Congratulations on a great bird! He's a true trophy. I shot a gobbler here in Wyoming and two in Nebraska but none the size of that bird. Here's a pic of my Wyoming gobbler. Nice to see a PA hunter here. I was born and raised in Carlisle, PA.

Nice bird! I like the picture.

I need to find a way to move from PA to Wyoming........or Montana.....Or Colorado Not that I dislike PA, But I LOVE the Rockies and hunting Elk in the high country.

Seems like I meet a lot of people out west that were originally from PA.
