Although i have not hunted here some friends have and this what they have ro say about it.
You have to be in top physical condition as you will be hunting at around 3000 meters height,
Travel is by horseback and foot tracking.
Shots are at 200 to 500 meters.
Tempratures range between 15'during day and -15'at night.
Accomodation is in cabins which are quite comfortable.
Hunt will last between 7 to 10 days.
Hope this helps.

If I were you I'd give Dennis Campbell a call at (205) 674 0101 as he will have the info and be able to put you in touch with others who have been.

Thanks for the help guys, I will definately call as suggested. One of my primary concerns is that the place I am looking at appears to be hunting only 50-60 miles from Bishkek, does being this close to the population effect the quality or quantity of wildlife? Has anyone ever used Igor with Extrem-Hunts out of Germany?
Thanks
Brad

From what I heard regards Ibex hunts in those regions, the outfitter as such is not so much the issue. The issue is whether you can make a 400 yards shot and have the rifle for it. All people that I heard about that were told they could get as close as 200 yards to the Ibex never got a shot at that distance. At 400 - 500 yards, they could ALL have taken an Ibex numerous times, but were not prepared for that kind of shooting.

i took 2 ibex in nothren ares of pakistan a month back. One shot was 390 yard and one was 320 yards.i shot one ibex on 31 dec and one on 1 st jaunary.Rifle i used is winchester 7mm magnum with swarovski z6 scope.I USED rws 162 grn cone pointed bullet.I have palnned to go again in end of february but it may be postponed becuse of heavey snowfall and condtions of the area.I am after the specific animal which is over 48/49 inches.

I have used the RWS cone-point bullets for a while in my 6.5x65, as they were they only commercially available load for that caliber. However, I found them to be very inconsistent on game, sometimes they work well, sometimes it made even roe-buck run for long distances with a perfect shot. I have therefore switched over to loads with Berger bullets for long-range applications (www.bergerbullets.com). If you reload, you will love them, they are very accurate, wind-resistent, and retain a lot of energy at extended ranges because of their high ballistic coefficient. They also kill like a lightning-strike. I used Berger 210 grain Bullets launched a 3000 f/s from my .300 WM to bag a very nice Alpine Ibex a while ago. Dropped him as felled by an axe while walking a ravine at about 300 yards distance.
