RIPP:

We never got the snow you got, just the cold, and that a few degrees warmer than you.

{This pic was actually taken a couple weeks ago.}

A little drizzle the last few days.

This spot I cleared with a bolo knife and dug into of the side of the mountain with a pulaski, scooped out like a reclining chair, enough to sit in so's I don't wind up unintentionally at the bottom. I'll dig in some shooting sticks to help with the sitting position a shot will {hopefully...} be taken from. If I had time I'd set up my Caldwell Lead Sled...

Lots of fresh sign on the fringe between the tall timber and the regen, my boot pointing to the general line of possible shots, a few below in the regen also. There should be...I saw a nice big buck up there. I hope he didn't get bumped off during elk season...

Muzzle of the rifle points to my place. I can actually keep an eye on the ole homestead while perched up on the top here.

What a perfect vantage point. It's easy to embark on a day-long vigil with a perch like that. Certainly appropriate for the .264 Win. Mag. across your lap.

Now, if someone will deliver pizza to that location, you'd have it made!

And hot spiced cider!!!

It's 9 miles up there from my place, but only about 3 1/2 as the crow flies. I can see the horses and such in my fields and, unfortunately...any deer that might walk out of my woods into the big hayfield, too...

Thanks RIPP:

God is good. Troubles we may have, and do, but blessings abound as well.

A few more pix from the Nest, taken yesterday morning. Bucks aren't moving yet, but on a couple stalks I did jump one and a doe elsewhere. No shots yet.

I don't want to fall asleep at the post, here, or I might wind up at the bottom in a heap...

9.3,

That really is a sweet spot! I like the varied habitat. Timber and open areas.

Please post a picture when you knock that big buck down.

And don't forget to have that wolf tag with you.

Armbar.
