      #143988 - 20/10/09 06:12 AM

Gents

looking for opinions about a royal arms 470 royal bolt action gun.

anyone heard of them?

looks to be of great quality from pictures. it is listed as caliber 470 royal? is that a different caliber than 470 NE or ignorance in listing?

26" barrel with removable muzzle break, weight 13#'s

Thanks
Jordan

I suspect you are referring to the rifle at BassPro?
Looks to be on a CZ action perhaps. I'm not sure what the .470Royal would be based on and I haven't had much luck with an internet search.
What do they say about it?

yes I am referring to that rifle. I have seen it in person and it looks really nice but they don't know much about it. I have tried the ol' internet myself with not much luck either.

they have the caliber listed as 470 royal?

The .470 Royal is a huge cartridge, not based on the .470 Nitro. It's actually bigger than the .470NE. You'd definitely want the brake on it if you plan on shooting it!
As for the company, I believe they went out of business years ago. I have no idea what the value of the gun might be.

do you know where they used to do business? are they an english company?

I neglected to look for proof marks at the time I saw it.

I bet the ammo is not currently available is it.

I think it was an American company, but I'm not sure. As for the ammo, www.qual-cart.com could make it for you.

I quote " Resize 505 Gibbs brass full length in 470 Royal sizer die or form from Gibbs basic brass in RCBS form die "
