I'm looking at possibly planning a hunt next year and I'd like to explore all my options - doing it myself by research or going through an agent. The problem is most of the agencies seem to have very outdated webpages (2000 season prices and pictures of trophies clearly taken in the 1980's) that make me wonder if they are even still in business and what kind of hunts these are.
What are some of the best agencies in the country - offering up to date information, a well put together website, a variety of well respected outfitters who offer reasonably priced hunts for realistic representative animals, etc?
Thanks

LOL, my website is a bit out of date but certainly not back to the 1980's! Let me know what you are looking for and perhaps I have a good outfit to take care of you. I do have a bear hunt posted for 2010 so far in the links section on this site.

I'm very undecided on species right now. It will depend who I can get to go with me and their thoughts. I can't do anything like elk, caribou, moose, etc as my house simply isn't big enough for a mount of significant size. Antalope Hogs Muledeer Mountain lion Blackbear Exotics
Right now I'm just in the tinkering mode seeing what average prices are.

ahhh price a hog hunt 2000$ what you say think of a hunt in total, tag+air or gas+tip+hunt+taxidermy+meat shipping or prep+ammo+extras instead ask yourself this hunt means what to me and what will make it a memory i will remember.antelope make a great starter hunt the are up all day and if you get one early you can fish shoot yodel dogs,or prairie dogs, look at the full package.like ann help you by saying to her i want to spend xxxx what can i do,these guys are travel agents for hunters let them help you.all you need to tell them this is what i want to spend

Yes, those extra costs will sneak up on people.
At this point, I haven't gone out of state in 10 years and haven't hunted with a centerfire rifle in 5 years. I'm going a bit stir-crazy and will be satisfied with just about anything on my list. I'm very agreeable; it's my PITA family/friends that are the difficult ones

Atchesons are good - you can get a fair amount of info from their website but more if you speak to them. They can find something suitable for all budgets, not just the high end stuff. http://www.atcheson.com/
