Meet Kate...

She is the latest addition to the household ..her partner in crime is almost 15 years old..figured it was time to bring another into the fold..Eight week old German Wire-hair...

Hope she does well for you, give the old dog a new lease of life (not to mention a whole lot of trouble!)

Never had a GWHP but always rather fancied one. Good alrounders by all accounts.

She's a fine looking pup. I've been thinking that my next dog will be a German Wire Hair. My old Lab is getting on in years, 'bout 14, so it probably won't be too long.

Again, she looks like a dandy.

Very nice indeed, Ripp! Congrats! I've had and trained a couple very nice English Setters that travelled and hunted with me all over the U.S. This time, however, I have a good connection on a litter from a very well respected breeder of GSPs that is due in February. I have a female with my name on it. I hunted over a couple of GWPs this past Fall and really admired the dogs. Very beautiful and very Teutonic! They (the dogs) expect to do well in the field.

Nice looking pup. I've hunted behind a wire hair a few times and they are a good dog.

I'm not sure I envy you though, puppies are a lot of work. My French Brittany turns three next month, I want to get another dog to keep him company during the day but want a little more time to pass before going through that again.

I actually enjoy working with puppies..have for a good deal of my life but have hunted with GWP only for the past 18 years--this is my 4th and found them to be quite easy to train. Hopefully this will be no exception..

While I primarily use them for pheasants, have used mine in the past to retrieve ducks out of the river as well as geese in the field.

For me at least, working with dogs really takes away the stress of the day

Good point Ripp. Who was it who said " the more I see of man the better I like dogs"

I am interested to hear your experience with GWHPs in terms of temperament, biddability and work style.
Enjoy that pup.
