Oooops, went to the Vintagers. Found a little brother for my .577 - a nice .450 BPE.
These are just hasty shots, but a lot of fun. Maybe more detail later. Life ain't so bad!

Very nice indeedy - I do prefer the fences on the .577, but the .450's are OK -

Bet you are now happy that you had an "oooops," and went to the Vintagers! I know the feeling, just seeing one of these things causes one's hands to shake a little, one's heart to beat a bit faster, and one finding need, somehow, to just take it home with them. I have had this feeling from girls, with some cars, and with a lot of double rifles! What a pair of beauties; love at first sight. I know you will take good care of them.

500N, You bet I appreciate it. I shot it last weekend and will do so again this weekend. Results pending.
Daryl, Only you would pick up on the difference of the fences. Percussion fences on the .577, and more modern fences on the .450. Frankly, I agree with you, but the difference is so subtle as to not be a difference.
Mehul, As to trophies, we shall see. I took an 8pt white tail deer with the .577 last fall, but it was no B&C. Only in my eyes!
Generalwar, Would that I could have your collection. We must compare notes some time. You can teach me a few things.
Baileybradshaw, Yes I know about sleepless nights. You may have caused a few with the ongoing build of your hornet DR.
Buchseman, I'm grinning from ear to ear.
Kapu, Yes a horrible situation indeed. Two A. Henrys!
Tinker, You will have to come to VA to shoot it. Unlike Don, I know you like hammer double rifles.
Doubleriflejack, You said it all when you mentioned the emotional high these rifles can induce. If I didn't get the rush I wouldn't do the drug!
Don, You are shorting yourself by not doing the hammer rifles, but it lessens the competition. I like both types. And by the way, I bought the .577 from Monty; so he knew, he knew...
