      #140434 - 12/08/09 02:07 AM

Sabatti has come out with a new sxs in 45-70 up to 600NE YES and the delux model will retail for around 6000$, calibers are 45-70,375 H+H,416 RIGBY450 NITRO,458 WIN,470NE,500NE,6OO NE.I ordered a 600 at the shot show but they will be the last made, gives me time to get funds up.the walnut is nicely figured, engraving is nicely done well balanced.metal to wood fit is very nice.this will help as an entry level double that also looks good.will let you know more as i get more info.august the proof house is closed in italy so we are on hold.

Fantastic. More doubles to choose from.
"450 Nitro" that means .450 3-1/4 or?

I just ordered me up one in 7X65R from a dealer here in Canada. Should be on my door step soon.

Mine is a bottom of the line extractor with very plain wood. The price was right, at 1/2 the current price of a Chapuis. I hope she works well and shoots well as I intend it to be a 100% "user and abuser".

I talked to Bethany at EAA today and she verified the .600 nitro is $2999 for the basic version and should be available January or February but she would not let me order one. She said orders would only be taken when they have the guns in their hands.

Received my 7x65R today. Can't wait for the brass to show up so I can see how she shoots. Looks like it was regulated with RWS 173 grain ammo. Not sure if it was the slower T mantle loading or the faster 173g load form RWS. I plan to scope the gun plus I am left handed so I who knows what I will end up with for a regulating load.

Anyways, so far she looks pretty good for the money...

wrong my friend they have to many orders will send you a picture when mine comes in....have a copy of MY ORDER FORM on the fridge.......and mine is the deluxe for that price i cant go wrong.guess why they wont take orders now because the price will go up they have to regulate these at 50$ a shot do the math that price wont be there in the future.thats why no more orders thats why im glad im #1 on the list.after all the stuff i have been through recently i finally have some good news my way.as a matter of fact i ordered 2 more 500's for a member from ohio and his son they took my order and they took my order for the 375 or the 458 which ever comes in first.tarawa was there when i ordered mine at the shot show in january

The guy who brought these in also has 2 in 9.3x74r. One bottom of the line gun like mine but with ejectors and one higher grade gun with a straight comb stock with better wood and scalloped fences (I think that is the correct term) with a different profile on the back of the action where it meets the wood. The action is very similar or the same as the advertisement pic posted above by Sarg.

Would you please show how to attach a scope to this rail?

I think all it requires is a set of Sako/Tika rings. I took it to the local gun shop today and that is what fit on it. The little rail is dovetailed and has a little slot to accept the lug that protrudes off the Sako type rings. It is held to the rib with 4 screws. So for the princely sum of $ 40 or 50 you can pick up some rings and mount your scope.

Here you go.

I don't know much about those style rings, the only ones he had in the store were Millet and they were medium height, I need low or extra low and have the guy checking around for me.

Quick detach would be good, I think that is what I will look for.

I say , they are not Sako type base , as the Sako rings are tappered , small back with stud , larger front , but that base looks famliar , just can't put my finger on it !

Thank you Alberta for this info !

Thanxs Sarg I may need to take a closer look when it comes time buy some rings, I won't try to scope it until I find a load that works with open sights. I believe the gun was regulated without a scope so that is where I will start.

There is a Sabatti listed on Gun Broker right now ( just do a search for double rifle). The dealer is in MN and in their write-up he mentions being able to order others. The one they have listed has a color-cased receiver that looks nice and double triggers. I haven't writen to them yet but it might be worth a try, see what they say.

those 5 were case colored and wont be repeated.per distributor, but i cant figure this one out they advertise the rifle with single triggers and double trigger models show up not that i am complaining but am wondering what will be recieved.getting an order in wont be hard its when that order will be filled the list grows daily.and thats good for the company but bad for us that means demand out wieghs supply price will go up i see that by the one that is on sale already.but thats the way it works.

I admit to not having any experience with the beasts, but it seems to me that since reliability is 'all' in dangerous game rifles, a double trigger would be preferred.

FWIW, the current USSG catalog shows the only Sabatti that is available w/o engraving as being the 45/70. For any other caliber you have to buy the high-priced model.

if its mechanical it might break i have been shootinf for 45 years never had a trigger break or malfunction does this mean a bolt is superior to a double in reliablity has anyone had a trigger break and which make so i can stay clear of them one two its a personal liking these guns built now are pretty reliable dont you think

I have had no contact with the people at USSG. I am just saying that the catalog page shown earlier in this thread is different from the one you will find at their web site now. The one you see today shows the 45/70 as being the only non-engraved model. Then, again, there is the thing about single or double triggers. I wonder if things are just too tentative and USSG isn't truly sure what is going to be sent from Italy.
