Just received a few boxes of Holland's new Paradox loads. They are 740gr original paradox style solids. They are 2 1/2 inch shells and are packed in a 10 round box. Available for $35 from Lewis Drake.
I'm going to see how they shoot in my 1913 H&H Nitro Paradox.

Why is it that they are .735 diameter, yet a 12 bore is .729"? Was the 12 bore paradox made with a larger than 12 bore or am I missing something. I would like to try these in a gun with a rifled choke, but don't want to blow the gun up!

Yes the bore diameter for 12 bore paradoxes was .733 to .736., they were never .729

My Paradox has bores measuring .737. I'm sure they have been honed at some point but as gatsby said they were never .729.
The Holland rounds shot well in my gun but crossed slightly at 50 yds. They were going 1040 fps. My loads are going 1050 and hit spot on at 50yds with no crossing at all. I'm using a 20-1 alloy and suspect the Holland loads may be 15-1, this may help attribute to them crossing in my gun.
Definately a good thing to see factory Paradox loads again.

Agree with Gatsby; and the Westleys, a bit bigger yet. It is a beautiful thing that these are available. JZ

Information about these is online.
Also, here is a notice from the factory that mentions the bore diameter. Guidance note on new ammo in old guns
From the website, the new Paradox ammo trajectory information is below:

thanks for the info, I'm working a deal on a 12 gauge 2 1/2 SXS shotgunxparadox boxlock. Came on this thread looking for a variety of 2 1/2 inch ammo and slugs. perfect data!
