Well, I got a box of cartridges for the Hagn today. Actually I won an auction for a box of 275 H&H Mag cartridges, from 98 Bond Street, London, England (made for H&H by Eley). But, I still haven't finalized my order with Martini-Hagn, yet! Still trying to decide on a couple of particulars about the finish and such. Got the ammunition, but won't have the rifle for at least a couple of years!
Me thinks I'm going about this all wrong!

Well, I guess if I'd quit overthinking all the particulars and just finalize my order, I'd have a picture to post, but I can't do it. Worry myself to death over stuff that don't really matter.
Something is wrong about that!!!

Christer, That's the problem, I don't have a picture of the rifle!!!
I guess the American euphemisms(sp?) don't carry well across cultures sometimes. My bad for not considering that (I feel kinda embarrassed). I just thought it was strange that I've got a box of ammo while the rifle is still in design stages, the actual building of the rifle will likely take 18-24 months. I've never done things the proper way, though.
It will be a Hagn actioned singleshot, I believe we have some pictures that both Nitro and I have posted around here someplace. I think they are titled Hartemann & Weiss.
I've been talking with Ralf Martini about the rifle, but haven't decided yet on the finish and few other cosmetic decisions. I do know it is cheaper to plan, than to change things after production has started!!!
At any rate, sorry for the confusion, I was just making a little fun of myself.

I don't see anything wrong with buying ammunition and then buying a rifle to shoot it. I bought a Rigby full length case with all the tools and such for a 275 HV and it took me 3 years and 5x the initial investment to get the rifle to put in it.

I bought CD s several years before buying a CD player.
I've almost bought ammunition components too before rifles - which I still do not own.
It gives one incentive.

DPhillips
Don't be embarrassed, my fault . I got the point in your first post and was playing on with it. Then in your second post I got confused because of a reading fault by me (I was tired when I read it) I saw I instead of I'd and thought that you had a photo of the ammo itself or something that you did not knew technically how to post.

DP,
Don't feel bad. I think there are enough uf us here in the same boat to swamp it in short order!
I bought a holster at a garage sale for a dollar, then had to buy a revolver to fit it...it was too much of a bargain ( the holster) to pass up! Man, did I ever save money!?!?

I must say this is the first case I've ever heard of someone buying a gun to fit a holster
