Are you asking the state of the barrel after that round is fired through it ?

There is a simple method of choice of barrel: from muzzle part in a barrel insert the bullet of ball-cartridge and with force "twistit" there.
There is a "string-course" of shabbiness on a bullet.
THE SAME CAN be DONE by CALIBERS WHICH ARE for sale In SHOPS UNDER CERTAIN KALIBR.
Chem nearer this "string-course" to the spout of bullet, the higher quality of barrel.
Thus, from a few barrels it is possible preliminary to choose the best.

This is essentialy a test of the relative condition of rifling at the muzzle crown correct, as well as being a quick way to determine bore size in Mosin Nagants?

Using rifle bullets as plug-gauges?

I don't typically go for military-surplus rifles, but I have heard of others using this method to sift through piles, by-the-muzzle, testing the muzzles with bullets as a go/no-go gauge, ditching the rifles with badly worn muzzles and taking the ones with the least erosion as the 'good ones'

Especially good if you're at a gun-shop where there is a good selection of bullets that you can measure...

It can be applied for verification of any barrel of rifle, which was in the use.
Consequently it only one from methods for determination of quality of acquired rifles.

The Russian methods are always simple rosary, and based not only on experience of basic wars in Russia 1905 years - 1917 years, 1941 year - 1945 years, I do not take the Spanish company into account, and many other local wars after 1945 . It is large experience of hunters of Russia also .
It only one from books allowing in the way of life to master the weapon of,- it has the applied value

-This method is good she only for Mosin Nagants and former in the use of barrels rifles, but also for new barrels.
