My GSP, Siegfried

This is my GSP Siegfried checking out any interesting smells in a newly planted vineyard. He was about 12 months old for this picture. Hares, foxes and rabbits visit the vine rows.

He looks nice a good friend to have a chat with while walking your properties. I was out with Dubder last week but it was much cooler. -7 celcius and some snow.

Nice vineyards, may I ask what grape you planted?

Welcome to the NitroExpress.com forums.

The vines in the picture behind Siegfried are Shiraz vines which were planted in 1999. They are now seven feet tall.

I will see if I can take a photograph to show you how they are now.

I too like working outside but used to work in an office and gave that up and took up a fresh air life. Much more healthy.

Other varieties we grow are: Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Riesling, Chenin Blanc and Semillon.

Promised vineyard pics [Re: NitroX]

Here is the promised vineyard photos as of today (thanks to the speed of digital cameras

Note these photos are autumn photos (Southern Hemisphere) and are a couple of weeks after picking the Shiraz grapes. The leaves are starting to turn to autumn colours and the cover crop between the rows was cut in summer and is about to be replanted. The photo in the first post was about three years ago. The vines are now over six feet high.

Siegfried is now four years old rather than the "puppy" of about 12 months.
