this is not the military pistol collector forum but it's maybe interesting to see what's floating around in the neighbourhood sometimes:
A friend who is dealing with hunting guns have take a pistol from the successor’s of a local hunter. The pistol was bougth from a Generaloberst, deputy of the minister of defense of the GDR and former commander of the east german border troops

A Generaloberst is the highest rank in peace time you can get in a german army’s, in war he will be a field marschal. This ex-general sold the pistol in 1994, he was knowing that he was standing before the high court of Berlin in 1995 and was making money from things he wasn’t able to have in future. The pistol, called Beretta, cal. 9mm Parabellum in the german gun license of the hunter and the contract between him and the general was in fact a irac make Taric pistol in a presentation box with two magazines.
The pistol don’t have east or west german proof marks, this means in any case that the east german general don’t buy it after the german reunification because such a gun had to have a proof under the west german gun law. In fact it was also not legal to sell it to another one without a proof in 1994. Nobody look at this, I was the first one, asking for proof marks. The contract shows that the pistol was on a west german gun licence from early 1991. there was an amnesty in 1990/1991 when everyone in east germany can get a west german gun licence for every gun legal before or not. But only high ranking officials like our general was able to have a pistol like this.
And don’t forget that on 2 August, 1990 Iraqi forces invaded and annexed Kuwait. No gun leave irak after this time.
I have blacked the names in the documents here because the former owners don’t wish to see her names in the www, the buyer get the original contract, a copy of the german gun license from our hunter where the ex-general is remark as the former owner and a newspaper article from last year about the die of the general and a news from the german Bundeswehrverband that the general was a member in this organisation from 1991 to 2008. if you search around you find also a big wiki article about the general on the german wikipedia.
this general was the only one of the high ranking officer’s ever in jail for the killings on the wall and the east-west german border. He is dead now since last year. We don’t know why he get this pistol before the end of the iron curtain but the only possibility is that the pistol was a present from the irak army, maybe for help in the first gulf war against the iran when east german sold a lot of stuff to the irak.
The general write a history of the german border troops and a autobiography, there is also a “declaration about the deads on the german border before the high court Berlin-Moabit in 1993” printed. All books can be have, maybe also hand signed if a collector would like to complete this lot.
The pistol is in germany, my friend have a german dealer licence and he is able to send the pistol in any corner of this planet.
