My problem, there are two week's i bought a belgian double rifle caliber 600NE in Paris, very cheap. The gunmaker say that's a Dumoulin rifle. I had contact with Dumoulin: they never made a double 600NE !!!

But could it be like in the UK with the "maker" of Double rifles.

They might say "W J Jeffrey", but in reality it was made by Leonard or others.

And so Jeffrey didn't make any guns, but alot of them have their name on them.

The gun is restored. The proof mark's are belgian's, no question, and it's reproofed in St.Etienne/France, but impossible to find a stamp of the origin of this rifle.

Take some time to search thru here, for english
http://littlegun.be/arme%20belge/a%20a%20site%20belge%20gb.htm

Or here for French,
http://littlegun.be/arme%20belge/a%20a%20site%20belge%20fr.htm

IRRC each maker there has their own stamp to identify their barrels and work.

If it's a pre 1950 gun this book might have some info as most makers put their own mark on the barrels and action. Did say might...

Don't forget that there were/are several Dumolins that were arms makers.
I had a nice little 308 Norma Mag. manlicher carbine from them years ago..
Wonderful craftsmanship.

By the way... You know that you're now required to show pictures of this rifle now.... Don't you?

Looks like it could be. It should have an "AF" in an oval on the flats.

Yep, then it is one. Nice rifle. The hidden cross-bolt is common on Francotte DRs from the '20s.

It shoot in the right direction !!! My problem is to find a good reload and i need a factory crimp because the roll crimp is not very safe. I had the same problem by reloading the 577NE. I started with 155grs IMR4831 behind a 900grs SP bullet from Woodleigh. Results no bad. I try 160grs in the next time. The goal is 1950fps, about. I make a report soon as possible.

Félécitations, Grand Veneur,
You found a very rare rifle by one of the greatest gunmakers in history (now sadly defunct). From what I can see it's a working-grade rifle that's been correctly restored. Francotte was not the only Belgium maker to offer 600NE rifles to the public, but one can be sure only a handfull were made. I can strongly recommend the recent re-edition of a classic book (1931) by F. Courally, of Lebeau-Courally, ("Les armes de chasse et leur tir")for more information on double guns in general and Belgium gunmaking before WWII in particular.
Greetings,
Livinus

I think so too, a plain finish working rifle. Thank you for the information about the book. Regards.
