Charger bridge

Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but seeing I am building a Lee Speed look-a-like, it's as good a place as any.

Are there any disadvantages to having the charger bridge removed on a No1 MkIII* to smooth out the lines of the action.

I've removed several and have seen no problems.
