...better check out the upcoming June Holt's auction - there's some nice ones there. At the very least, drooling stuff!

The little .303 is killing me. Especially at the projected value. Seems low giving it is a Gibbs and appears to be in great shape.

Yes it is a Gibbs action, but with a new barrel. Probably a good candidate for a full restoration, but the estimate does seem low...

Does look like a nice little gun - I've already bid...
It is hard to tell to what extent the engraving has been worn/buffed when the action is blued as it is. The forarm is not to the Gibbs sporter shape but the action looks to be unmonkey'd with other than the finish - wish they would show full length photos.
Some of their estimates are way low - I bet my generous bid won't even cut it on this one.
And the pound has been gaining on the dollar lately again - at $1.58 today.

Did you spot the little Alexander Henry? The barrel is a throwaway but otherwise looked in good shape. The estimate seems absurdly low, even with the current exchange rate.

Most of Holt's estimates usually are pretty low, prices usually run quite a bit higher - unfortunately. I'll refrain for the time being though - even if they have a ZAR for sale, but it has been reblued...

I would say that their low-balling on estimated prices is both good and bad. Bad in that their estimate is too good to be true (dashed hopes and all that). Good in that you didn't get ripped off on that similar british gun you bought here in the US for more than their estimate.
