Mauser Commercial action?
      #127832 - 23/02/09 05:05 PM

I found a Mauser action, standard bolt face, at he gun show today.

I think it is a Commercial Mauser but don't know enough about them. It has a inside trigger guard release. slot on top for a loader and a thumb hole groove on left. It says Mauser (trademark) in Gold on front ring and on left side in gold.

Drilled for scope on top and drilled on right side for peep.

Blue is good and action is fine except for the holes.

Asking $400.

Right, high, low??

G'Day Mick,

If the metal work is all original (apart from the holes), it may be a 1909 Argentine Mauser?
They had a inside the trigger guard floor plate release, as issued!

FYI,I seen a original, complete unissued rifle advertised here (Australia), recently for $1500.00!!!

Hope that helps.

Mickey, is the Mauser trademark that of a 'Banner Mauser,' like at the top of the following web page?

If so, it could be that the bottom metal is an original Oberndorf sporter type. I don't know enough about them to say if some came with this bottom metal. If so, $400 would seem like a pretty good deal.
