G'day Dan,
I've only heard of a this once before and thought the bloke full of it but now that may not be the case. That said a family member of mine has an Anschutz .222 Rem built on a sako L46 action this I haven't come across before either. Can anyone shed some light on the subject.

Regards.

According to my information, Browning offered Sako actioned and barrelled rifles with FN stocks between the years 1963 and 1974, in various grades from Safari to Olympian Grade.

Browning used Sako actions if I recall correctly on the short and possibly medium actions. I have a Safari from Belgium (FN), made I think in the later 60's and it is on the Mauser action. I might add, it is one of the best bolt action rifles I have ever owned, for accuracy and function. It shoots everything I load, like it was ammo matched to that rifle. The period Leupold M8-6X mounted on it, also seems to help with my aging eyes.
