Does anyone have or has anyone handled an Ed Brown rifle with the 704 controlled feed action? I am interested in learning a bit more about the quality of the action machining, compared to say a blueprinted Remington or clone such as the Stiller Predator or similar.

Jabali

I had an Ed Brown 702 and it was very tight, straight and well machined action. Personally I prefer CrMo actions over stainless steel. It can’t be compared to a blueprinted rem 700 - my smith commented the 702 was made of much harder steel and perfect fit.

Another action to look at is the McMillan mcrt - had one of those too.
