Some of you might remember this boar taken with SGs and an attempted RC4 slug on a culling trip a while back.

Take a close look at the tusks, and you might be able to make out a few too many teeth sticking out of the jaw! I brought the whole head home, and it disappeared into the depths of my deep-freeze until a recent clean-out, whereupon I tossed it into the home-billabong for a couple of weeks to let the red-claw and cherabin clean it up for me. Another week to bleach in the sun (in between storms!) and it was ready to photograph. Check it out!

The mutation might not be that rare, as a similar boar was taken by another member of the party on our following trip to that same property last year (pictured below).

Anyone else seen a scissor-faced boar like these two during the course of their hunts?

Never seen one like that out of heaps that have gone down,he is an unusual one for sure, well worth cleaning him up too.
He would have made an ugly wound in a dog or a leg.

Non-typical, Mog. Zero!
Scores over a hundred as a great conversation-piece, though!

Very cool. Would of been interesting for a dog to come up against it. Stabbed and slashed at the same time!

In all my years of hunting and shooting ,I've never seen a jaw like that. Did it come out of the Halls Creek,Fitzroy area ? Al

After 25 years of fairly intensive hunting here in hog heaven (The Cape) and having shot literally thousands of good boars in that time I've never seen anything like that. I've also never encountered a boar with "bracelet" tusks either.
Cheers.

Yep
Just got that mag yesterday while in Cairns - the bloody things are everywhere!!!! It's an invasion.
The next boar I shoot will probably have 'em as well.
