What animals have you hunted with bow?

Seeing that there is a worldwide membership to this forum, I was wondering, what animals have you hunted with a bow? Living in the states 95% of my archery hunting is for whitetail deer. I also hunt elk out West on an almost yearly basis. I would love to take my bow to Africa for plains game. What do you hunt? Is it by stalking or by stand?

Rabbits, pigeons, grasshoppers and feral goats.

My equipment though was very basic and not powerful enough.

When going to RSA this spring I will try BowSHOOTING to a start and see if I am capable to continue with Bowhunting. I would really try to take an Impala in the bush with an arrow.

While hunting with a bow it is more important to be able to shoot accurately and have sharp broadheads than to have lots of power. I shoot compounds 99% of the time right now. At 65Pounds my Mathews Ultra Max has no problem shooting an arrow clean through a 900lb. bull elk. It will drive that same arrow through the shoulder blades of a whitetail deer that weighs 120 pounds (I found this out by accident-The arrow hit just forward of the spot I wanted. Just the same. Dead deer.) But all this power is not needed. I have killed whitetails when I was a teenager with a 35 lb. recurrve bow that I borrowed from my grandfather. If placed in the lungs with a sharp broadhead it will still kill deer every time, at least animals up to 120-130 pounds.

Watch out, archery hunting is addictive! I really got into it after college in the early 90s. I liked the fact that here in the states the seasons have less hunting pressure and nicer weather.I can hunt game more on thier terms, they are still moving naturally. I have to understand thier movements and outsmart them. Add to this the fact that I can hunt deer and elk during the rut and it is a match made in heaven! I still love firearms and rifle hunting, but I take the vast majority of my biggame with a bow. I have used tree stands, ground blinds and stalking on foot. All methods are exciting........but NOTHING beats going 1 on 1 with a mature bull elk. That was the most amazing hunt of my life. I can't wait for the first week in September to go back to the Rockies! I wish you luck on that impala.

Coues deer
Mule deer
Hogs (tx)
4 horned sheep (tx)
Javelina
turkey
bear (still wainting to conect on this one)
Small game IE rabbits squirrel quail and pests
I would like to hunt elk and numerous other species, maybe someday and try bowfishing. (need a mentor for this one).
I came close to drawing on a mountain lion that I had bumbed into (had a tag) but thought better of lol. I hadnt had much experience with my bow then.

Three mule deer and one pronghorn, but twenty years ago with a PSE Lazer II, now an antique. Isn't it amazing that we could get those "old" things to work? What did we ever do without technology....

I just bagged a 6'7" American trucker last week. He is my second biggest trophy yet, only the giraffe beat him and just by a little. You know, them big ones really fall hard so there was no blood trail. My broadhead was one of those cupid's darts, they really work!

Any ideas for taxidermy work?

Try freeze drying...it worked on my mother in law...err, X mother in law.
