NE,

Here is another small bore from the Rhineland; in this case Strassburg - Baden Baden.

What a gorgeous set up, please provide some more details on how it shoots and if you have taken it in the field. It seems so unusual to see a complete setup like that without it being from England!

m4220,

This one hasn't been shot in quite a few years. It is regulated quite well and the loads that have been worked up has it holding groups of 1" to 1 1/4" at 100 yards, unless I'm mistaking for another piece. I have a target around here somewhere and have finding it and the bullet and charge combination on my list of things to do this afternoon. I have not taken it to the field as yet. I've included a picture of the emblem on the cover of the case.

Gentlemen,

Thank you very much for the nice comments.

It's finally getting warm enough up here (Wisconsin) to get packed up and head out to the range. I wasn't able to find the target last shot with the subject piece so I'm going to go out to do a better job of recording what I'm doing. I have that .280 Ross "clamshell" I have to take out as well and see how it does. The Ross has prompted me to go out and purchase a chronograph to "get the facts straight" with regard to velocities. I'll be sure to supplement the NE post/s when I get things worked out or up ... I suppose both.

That is a beautiful rifle, but the joker who screwed up that muzzle end should be hung at dawn. That looks like it was done with a wood rasp, then stippled with a NAIL SET! IMO ruined an otherwise beautiful rifle. DAMN!!!

Well I don't know about the wood rasp scenario but I will agree that the decision to punch the rings about the muzzle block was certainly different, and the reason I included the photo in my post. I prefer the more typical cross-hatching or scroll work like most but what does one do? Many years ago there was a 9.3X74R mate to this one (identical receiver and all) for sale on the GGCA's (German Gun Collectors Association) website, back in the day when they had a "For Sale" section, I'd like to know if it had received the same treatment to it's muzzle.
