Benoit family news

I just wanted to pass on some news about the Benoit family. Iris Benoit, wife of perhaps Vermont's most famous deer hunter, Larry Benoit, passed away on 11/5/08. Larry and Iris were married for 66 years. The Benoits have been friends of mine for over 30 years, and I just wanted to pass this on to the members here, as I know many of you have read his books, magazine articles, or hunted with him.

I read some Benoit deer hunting books as a kid, and I have tried his deer hunting method. IT WORKS! Of course you have to be in shape. I find sitting in a blind to be B - O - R - I - N - G. But tracking deer at a fast pace in the snow and getting quick shots at them is lots of fun.

Thanks for asking. Larry's youngest son, Shane, had his second kidney transplant performed back in December. I hope to see Shane tomorrow.
