Nice one! I'm hoping to emulate that with my new toy: 9.5/57 MS. I assume that one is a take-down too. Lovely.
Hey, how come the grass is still short down there? Its really starting to shoot up around Darwin. Will be over our heads by the end of the month for sure.

Please tell us what the load was. Nice shooting 'Dad'. seems funny saying that - looks like we're the same age.

What can be said...!!
Great post.
Can you give us the details on bullet, load and performance?
Great job!
I'd like to spend some time over there. My 9.3x57's need a workout...

We knew!
I just thought a 9.3x57 would make a good companion...
And yes, load data, please. Daryl and I aren't opposed to squeezing down your .375 slugs to fit our ".36's".

What are those dirt mounds in the background of the second picture? They look like African termite mounds.

Termite mounds are not unique to Africa. We have them in the Carolinas.

I once shot an elephant from atop one of those termite mounds, whither I had climbed to get a better angle on a brain shot. One quick shot to the brain and another to the heart after he was down. I still don't know why the recoil of my .505 didn't cause me to lose my balance, but it didn't. I guess in the back of my mind I remembered W.D.M. Bell shooting elephants in high grass from atop a ladder. Not having a ladder, I improvised.

Here's a couple of bigger ones from my back-yard:

...and the famous magnetic anthills, that point north-south:

Northern Australia is covered in termite mounds of all different shapes and sizes. What do they look like in the Carolinas?

Hi Marrakai,
They look like the ones in the photo with the buffalo. Those in your backyard are truly amazing!

Cheers.
