Browning ss in 240 Gibbs
      #12529 - 26/03/04 05:31 PM

I was at a gun show last weekend and saw a modern Browning falling block chambered in 240 Gibbs. I had never heard of this cartidge so I am assuming the rifle was customized. I found it interesting so I just thought I would share.

AdamTaylor:

I owned a 240 gibbs on a mauser action some 20 years ago. Don't bother with it. It is so overbore it is squirrelly.

Any little increase in temperature puts it over the top. I remember working up loads in early summer, temps in the mid-sixties. The same load two weeks later was perforating primers. Temp had increased to low eighties.
