Ammo for the S&W S22.
      #118357 - 06/11/08 01:32 AM

I have a Smith & Wesson S22 semiauto pistol.
I have shot it with Remington Cyclone without a problem and I would like to use Remington Yellow Jackets as I can get then again.
Is there any problem in shooting Yellow Jackets on semiauto pistol and carbines?
Thanks
Martin

Not familiar with the S&W S22, but Yellow Jackets should be safe in anything designed for modern .22.
Not sure why you would want to, my experience in an older Margolin / vostock target pistol showed a drop in accuracy, a slight drop in velocity, and a bit more muzzle flash at night.
Apparently the lighter bullet uses a slower powder, so in very short barrels it doesn't work the way it was intended. Carbines are different, and they seem to work OK in barrels down to 16.5 inches (our minimum length for clasifacation as rifles).

Occasionaly some of the extra high velocity .22 would cause jams due to short stroking of auto's, both rifle and pistols. Cannot recal which brands, just remember it happening with some ammo in some guns.

Thanks for your answer.
I used the YJacked some years ago and I love them.
I have do some shooting with carbine and pistol and found a 10% reduction shooting the same ammo form pistol.
It would be interesting to try the Yellow Jacket.

Sorry but it is in spanish.
Thanks
Martin
