Hello all
Just took delivery of a 550 in .458.
The open sights are a bit odd. The white line up the rear face of the rear sight appears to be slightly canted and the front sight doesn't really show up like I would like to it to.
What options do I have in Australia as far as sourcing different open sights for this rifle.
Also, how difficult is it to put sling swivel/barrel band on one of these rifles, given that the front sight appears to be sweated on.
Thanks

I had CZ put on a high vis front sight on mine, I'm sure you can order it, and then I had AHR put on an NECG Masterpiece rear sight that I like a lot.
Here's a bad photo of the front sight with the old rear sight on:

and here's a better pic of the NECG rear sight:

I assume that the hi vis front sight is just a replacement blade.

The rear sight can easily be flat-topped and a nice notch cut with a small file. Front can be replaced with a sourdough type if you like.
Interestingly, the standard rear looks like a Williams, but is steel. The Williams is aluminum.

I think you're right controlled_feed, I think it's a replacement blade. It was on when I got the gun, it's an option. The NECG rear sight is the nicest rear sight I've had on any of my rifles. For some reason it naturally lines up as I bring up the rifle.

Thanks for responses folks.
Can anybody on this side of the water give me a name of a gunsmith who is good with big bore and could do a bit of custom work on my 550.
Thanks
