Ruger No. 1 + OLD Weaver 4x= PERFECT fit!!!!
      #11650 - 16/03/04 01:31 PM

I wish I had a digital camera, as the warne QDs that luv2safari sent are excellent, and surprisingly, that old weaver has a boat-load of eye-relief!!! I actually could move the scope back another half-inch in the mounts and still be "ok" on the mount... but with my tendency to creep anyway, I figured it best to leave it out there.

I haven't gotten it to the range yet, as I don't have the reloading stuff or $50 laying around for ammo at the moment. I'll find out tomorrow if I'll have the money to go shoot it this weekend! (100% commission can suck sometimes).

I'm just going to zero it with 300gr Partitions for now, although I'd like to eventually work up a "north american" load with the 260gr nosler solid-base Ballistic tip. figured that would be good medicine on black bears and elk, and set the scope for those... (~7" corridor out to 300yds)

then yank the QDs and get the irons set for a nice 350gr controlled-expansion piece...

I'll get you some group measurements both bench and off-hand ASAP.

Edit: my typing SUCKS as of late....

Hey dude, glad you're finally getting your No.1 to your liking. L2S seems to have quite a few things squirreled away.

475Guy

I have more shit than a gaggle of geese...I scrounged everything I could get my grubby hands on when I ran a gun department years ago.

Guys were throwing away easily 95% condition Lyman Alaskans, Bear Cubs, early Weavers in K2.5 and K3 P&CH, pre 64 Model 70 barrels, factory stocks, G&H side mounts and on & on. Picked up a leg'o mutton case in an excellent grade of leather for $5.00.....

I just salted all this away for projects for my old age. By the way, I have around 12-14 Valmet and Tikka 412 barrels on hand...I lost count, but have a bunch for sale/trade...

So...what may I help you find, here at BC's Bigger Bang for the Buck Bargain Basement...annex?

L2S, I'll come up with a shopping list, maybe wish list?
