Proof mark question
      #115724 - 28/09/08 09:55 AM

Hello,
I have an option on a 280 double rifle with the following proof marks:
CORDITE 44-160 MAX
280 2.61"
Is it 1904-1925 or 1925-1954?
Best regards,
WC

04-25 As I read it.

The word "Bullet" was added in '25 ie "160 BULLET max"

Regards

Thank you Bramble,
That was my inclination, but I was not sure when the chamber length was introduced.
