Greener bore rifle at auction

A WW Greener 12 bore rifle is coming up for auction soon. I'm thinking about putting in a bid, and am wondering if people might offer their thoughts on it.

LONDON GUNS MARTINI HENRY ACTIONED TAKE DOWN S/S NITRO RIFLE, NO.1 of a pair: 12G; regulated for 2¾; 750 gr conical ball; 22" rifled barrel; mint bore; ramp mounted blade front sight with flip up moon sight, 1 standing & folding (with gold line) rear sight on ¼ rib; w.w.greener maker 68 haymarket london & 12 bore nitro rifle to barrel; full thread screw off barrel; magnificent chequered walnut with marble character; ivory forend cap, screw inserts, skeletonised grip cap & butt plate; tear drops to both butt & forend; blacked action with w.w.greener inlaid in gold to both sides; auto safety with gold F&S vacant escutcheon; borderline engraved & signed p.j.v.; 14" LOP, 6¾ lbs; as new. #5572 L/R

looks neat but this is the only Bore rifle I've ever seen with a 22" bbl....seems awful short, be a fun gun for the howdah though.

At 6 3/4 lbs. it's going to be a handful when you touch the trigger!

I understand that the barrel is longer than it appears in the photo - the photo is cropped, shortening the appearance of the barrel. I have asked for details of barrel length, and will post when details are received.

I've just checked with the auctioneers, and they confirm the rifle has a 22 inch barrel. Do people feel this is too short? Advantages? Disadvantages?
